Created by the same team behind the best-selling Star Wars Battlefront™ and Star Wars Battlefront™ II titles, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest opens the fantasy world of Middle-earth giving players the choice to join the powers of good or the forces of evil, in the eternal struggle to control the One Ring.

“The Lord of the Rings: Conquest expands on the celebrated game play found in the Star Wars Battlefront series, on every level,” says Josh Resnick, co-founder and general manager at Pandemic Studios. “We developed a game that is fun, strategic and pushes the boundaries of the renowned lore.”

Players can choose to control their favorite heroes and villains including Aragorn, Gandalf, the Witch-king, the Balrog and even the Dark Lord Sauron. Players can also engage surrounding characters in the world such as wargs and oliphaunts, control catapults and balistas, and even play as giant creatures such as cave trolls and Ents. As well, fans can play through the campaign modes cooperatively via online or split-screen and relieve their favorite battles
competitively via four-player split-screen or online with up to 16 players.

Campaign
In the Good campaign
, players follow the main events of the films, and in the Evil campaign where players control the forces of darkness in a new storyline. In this alternative ending Frodo failed to destroy the Ring and Middle-earth is conquered by Sauron.[1][7]

Good Campaign (The War of the Ring)
Training Level the last battle of the War of the Last Alliance, is the first level in the game. Battle of Helm's Deep The player must defend the ancient fortress of Helm's Deep from Saruman's Uruk-hai. It is the first level in the War of the Ring campaign. Isengard Depicts the battle between the Ents and the Uruk-hai.

Battle of Osgiliath The player must defend Osgiliath from Sauron's armies.
Battle of Minas Tirith The player must defend the mighty White City.
Battle of the Pelennor Fields Will allow the player to play as the Rohirrim during the battle. Battle of Minas Morgul A mission that happened neither in the books (though it was discussed by the characters as an option) nor in the movie, however it is where the player must conquer the evil fortress so they can get to the Black Gate. Battle of the Black Gate. The mission objective of this level is to hold out against the wave of Sauron's army. Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn are playable in this mission.
The campaign continues with loosely-based settings from the films, such as the Battle of Isengard as an Ent, Gandalf fighting Saruman at Orthanc, or battling a Balrog in the Mines of Moria.[1]

The Evil Campaign
